:: Star Wars Birthday Party Ideas :: Invitation, Games & Activities :: Printables ::

Nothing sets the tone of an AMAZING STAR WARS BIRTHDAY PARTY, like an invitation that is just like the intro in the Star Wars movies! And YES this is a MOVIE…it MOVES, not just an image! To personalize and create your own STAR WARS CRAWL INTRODUCTION INVITATION for FREE you can visit the Star Wars website by clicking here. This will allow you to create it and share it, but not download it. If you would like to have it available for download for a fee, visit this website.

AS GUESTS ARRIVE: Have each guest build their own favorite Star Wars Character Cubes (free downloads from http://www.cubeecraft.com/series/lego-star-wars/ and http://www.cubeecraft.com/genre/pop-culture/). Also, take pictures of the guests using the “Selfie” photo booth from the Star Wars App (free). These can be sent later as your THANK YOU cards.

If you’re having party with younger kids or with more impatient personalities, I recommend that your guests “BUILD-A-DROID”. You can have your guests cut/assemble R2D2 by downloading the Cubee Craft printable here, make sure you print them on cardstock paper. I personally had the R2D2’s pre-cut and scored, where they just had to assemble and tape in place.

If you’re having a party for older kids, I recommend that your guests “BUILD-A-CUBEE”. You can have your guests cut/assemble Star Wars characters by downloading the Cubee Craft printables here and here. (Make sure you print them on cardstock paper.) I personally had the characters precut and scored, where they just had to assemble and tape in place. Note: these are MUCH more complicated!

Another great idea to do meanwhile your guests arrive is to allow them to take SELFIES with the (FREE) STAR WARS app downloaded onto your phone.

Just download and click on the SELFIE icon.

Your guests will be able to change the characters, the character in the background, the background itself, the color of the lightsaber, as well as the direction of the characters. Once you like your picture, you can save it to your camera roll. (I sent these pictures along with the Thank you Cards after the party.)

LET’S GET THE PARTY STARTED!!

There’s no particular order to do the following activities. I just tried to arrange them, where they were sitting, then active, then interactive…so that there was a balance in the amount of energy they were using, along with location of where they were doing the activities.
:: Star Wars Party Invite ::

SHARPEN YOUR JEDI SENSES: TOUCH: Each participant must place their hand inside the box and try to figure out the object inside without taking it out. (Use a box and cover with a black plastic bag, cut an X on the top to allow the participants to slide their hands in and out easily. Try to find things with different textures: furry, sticky, slimy) TASTE: With eyes blindfolded, each must try a different food and figure out what it is. (Place small pieces of food in disposable sauce containers). SIGHT: Have participants observe the pictures that are blurred/up close and figure out what they are. SMELL: Each participant must smell each cup with an object inside and figure out what it is. (Use disposable cups with pierced lids). HEAR: Participants must work together to figure out what sounds they are hearing. (Download the STAR WARS App which has sounds and click on “Soundboard”. It includes classic quotes and sound effects.)

For the SIGHT activity above, I used the following up-close/cut up pictures (these are for younger kids), click here. If you would like to cut up your own images so that they are much harder to guess, you can use the following images I used by clicking here.

For the SMELL activity, I used these plastic containers (the ones used for condiments in restaurants), placed cotton balls soaked in vanilla, garlic, perfume, vinegar, etc.) and pierced holes on the top lids.

STAR WARS GUESS WHO? Have each participant close their eyes and place a Star Wars Photo Booth Mask in front of them. The game is played like Guess Who?, where the person with the mask gets to ask one question at a time, meanwhile the rest answer yes or no, until the person figures it out. When all are complete, use these Photo Booth Masks (with a cool backdrop and speech bubbles) to take pictures of all the guests.:: Star Wars Party Ideas ::

I used the following STAR WARS Photo Booth Masks. You can find them here and here.

Once they finish guessing the characters, you can use these speech bubbles to take a group picture! Just print on cardstock paper, cut the speech bubble out and glue/tape a wooden skewer or wooden chop stick to the back of it.

:: Star Wars Party Printables :: Star Wars Games and Activities ::JEDI MIND TRICK: Have each participant think of a number from 1-10. Whatever number they choose, you will have guessed it in the end…the answer will be 10. Here’s how it works: Choose a number (4), Add 6 (10), Subtract 1 (9), Add 5 (14), Subtract the original you thought of (4) and you are left with 10!

:: Star Wars Party Games :: LIGHTSABER DUEL: Using foam lightsabers and white Stormtrooper balloons, they must toss balloons to each other (no hands) and avoid it touching the ground.  Then allow them to attempt individually to keep the balloons in the air.
JAR JAR FEEDING GAME: Using sticky hands and small marshmallows, see how many marshmallows each participant can catch in thirty seconds.

Here, I used these sticky hands, mini marshmallows, and small bath white plastic cups for them to keep them in.

UNFREEZE HAN SOLO: Have each participant stand in a circle as they take turns rubbing the frozen ice which has Han Solo figure frozen inside.  (Place Han Solo figure (or printout) on a thin pan and freeze, so that he’s completely frozen but not so much that it will take too long to unfreeze. It’s also a good idea to leave him out when the guests arrive to the party).

:: Star Wars Games for Parties :: Star Wars Printables Party :: JEDI BUBBLE WARS: Using foam lightsabers and bubbles, have each participant practice their Jedi moves as they dodge the bubbles and try popping them too!
:: Star Wars Party Games DIY ::FEEL THE FORCE: Have each participant have a turn hitting the piñata meanwhile blindfolded.  But first, you must spin them three times. Then, they must concentrate and feel the force to hit the piñata.

I used many Star Wars themed candies and items to fill my pinata, like: Star Wars Popping Candy, Star Wars Jelly Beans, Star Wars PEZ Candy, Star Wars Sweet Cream Candies, Star Wars Light Up Lightsaber Candies, Star Wars Stickers, Glow in the Dark Mini Stars, Star Wars Glow Sticks, Milky Way Fun Size Bars, Star Wars Gummy Fruit Flavored Snacks, Star Wars Bouncy Balls, Star Wars Bracelets, and Star Wars Erasers.

At the end of their Jedi Training, the young Jedi’s need….a JEDI TRAINING CERTIFICATE, of course! I used these.

THE GALAXY WARS CONTINUE…

I purposely planned my party at 5:30 p.m. (this is right after daylight savings time, so it will vary for the fall), so that the guests had time to enjoy the party during the daylight hours, but after completing the party games and activities and singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY, it was DARK! To end the party, we placed 3 necklace length glow sticks inside each foam lightsaber, to make them GLOW! (For example: 3 green necklace glow sticks for one green foam lightsaber) Then just place a piece of clear mailing tape at the end of each lightsaber to keep the glow sticks inside.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
