So you carved your pumpkin! It looks awesome! But, after a few days, it’s not looking so good anymore. And if you live in a warmer climate, like Miami, it’s looking even worse! Luckily, all you need is your kitchen sink and some bleach!

Fill your kitchen sink with cool water and add a “good splash” of bleach, like Clorox. Place your jack-o-lantern inside to soak for at least 30 minutes on each side. Make sure you cover all sides. Repeat daily or as needed.

What really happens? Soaking helps your pumpkin maintain its moisture, which prevents it from drying up and decaying. The bleach kills bacteria which prevents mold from growing.
