:: What To Do ::

Using an X-Acto knife, unstitch the top part of a softball/baseball. Make sure to tie up the remaining threads to prevent them from further unraveling. Take out the ball. Add some dirt and your plant!

    How do you take out the inside of the ball? I’ve tried a softball and a baseball, and both have the skin glued on. There’s no way to remove it and keep it intact to make a planter.

      It must be the type/quality of ball. If you look at the picture, that’s the brand I happened to have to do this project…the stitching comes off easily and the ball inside pops right out. Sorry to hear that yours didn’t work, perhaps you could share your brand so others are aware of it. Hope you get to do it;)

    Do these drain properly when watered?

      I would suggest you make/drill holes on the bottom of the ball to properly drain.

    Yes! This is an awesome idea. I like the little ‘lid’ as well, that could be used for writing labels on, or even naming your plants if you are weird like me, hahah 🙂
